Forged in England from premium steel, The TA Axe is a distinctive, compact axe. Made from high quality EN9 steel which is really tough so it can withstand impact, whilst also holding a good sharp edge. Now updated version includes Official TA Outdoors lazer-etched logo on the handle, and premium double press-stud leather sheath for added durability. In addition to this, a hardwood Walnut wedge has been used to secure the axe head to the traditional high quality European Ash Wood Handle.
* Please note the Ash used for the handles is not the 100 year old Ash, these were only limited edition. But it is still high quality durable Ash.

The TA Axe is the collaborative effort of the skilled blacksmiths of Thorn Wood Forge & Mike Pullen of TA Outdoors.

  • EN9 Scandinavian Medium Carbon Steel - A carbon content of 0.5-0.6% holds sharp edge whilst maintaining toughness to withstand shock during use.

  • Axe Length: 14 inches

  • Overall Axe Weight (with sheath): 800g

  • Axe Head Weight: 600g

  • Large Axe Poll (rear face) - Ideal for battening wood and hammering wooden tent pegs

  • Hand stitched Oak Bark Tanned Leather Sheath - From the last remaining Oak Bark Tannery in England - Colyton, Devon

  • Traditional European Ash Wood Handle - Strong, durable, low vibration

  • Handle finished with boiled linseed oil, a Natural water-resistant finish that brings out the grain in the wood and darkens slightly with age

MATERIAL GUARANTEE:

TA Outdoors warrants that the TA Axe shall be free from defects in materials and workmanship upon delivery prior to use. Each TA Axe undergoes thorough quality control inspection prior to shipment. This Material Guarantee shall be rendered null and void in the event of, but not limited to, the following: Damage to the handle or blade resulting from overstriking or improper use. Corrosion or deterioration of the tool due to inadequate maintenance. Use of the tool for purposes other than the cutting of wood, which is the sole intended material. Correct and adequate storage of the tool in dry, cool and low humidity environment. In the event that the purchaser believes there to be a defect in the product that is not attributable to user error as described herein, the purchaser shall promptly notify TA Outdoors in writing, providing comprehensive evidence to substantiate their claim. Upon review of the submitted evidence, should TA Outdoors determine, in its sole discretion, that the defect is not the result of user error, TA Outdoors shall, at no cost to the purchaser, provide a replacement of the defective TA Axe. This shall be the sole and exclusive remedy under this Material Guarantee.
